What kind of cutting fluid can I use and how much? Does it need to be replaced?

Just like the oil in your car, you’ll know when the cutting fluid is breaking down and needs to be replaced. Keep an eye out for decreased performance of the fluid and replace as needed.

Tap Buddy is made of oil-resistant plastic designed for everyday use. For long-term shelf storage, consider emptying Tap Buddy to maintain its longevity and prevent potential leaking. Safely dispose of the cutting fluid according to local regulations.
How do I clean Tap Buddy?
To clean out the shavings, remove the cap and brush holder, then pull out the strainer. Hold it above the body to let the fluid drain, tap gently over a trash can, and reassemble. It is not necessary to remove all shavings from the strainer, but periodically emptying the bulk of them will improve Tap Buddy’s performance. If emptying Tap Buddy for long-term storage, gently wash all components by hand with warm water and dish soap, being mindful of any remaining shavings. Use a rag or small brush to dislodge shavings from the strainer if needed. Always wear gloves and handle components with care to avoid injury.
What is Tap Buddy made out of?
Tap Buddy is constructed from oil- and heat-resistant PETG plastic using advanced 3D printing technology. Proudly designed, manufactured, and assembled in the USA.
